For a spring gun, a normal fps would be from 200-280
For an electric gun, a normal fps would be from 300-400
For a gas gun, a normal fps would be from 300-500

Low fps (200-250) spring guns always wear eye protection.
unmodified Nerf guns might shoot about 30 or 35 fps, but some modified guns and homemade guns could probably get up to about 60 or 70 fps.
FPS stands for Feet Per Second. This is how fast the manufacture rates to BB or pellet as it comes out of the barrel. A slow FPS is around 250 FPS a very fast FPS is around 1200 FPS a few rifles can attain over 1500 FPS. Airsoft guns rarely get above 500 FPS because the projectile is so large.

All BB guns are alot less in (Strong) than Pellet guns. BB guns are luckey if they can attain 600 FPS (feet Per Second) Pellet guns & rifles can attain 1450 FPS. The fastest and most powerful BB gun I know of is the IZH Baikal Drozd that fires at 541 FPS. The Evanix AR6 Pellet rifles fires at 1450 FPS.
All paintball guns shoot between 280 and 300 fps.
