HOW DO YOU MAKE BORAX CRYSTALS?That's simple, First you need to get a pipe cleaner of any color and make it into a shape that you want oh and don't make it to BIG. Next you boil water till it becomes steaming hot!!! Then you grab a vase or a pickle jar it doesn't matter, but have the water go nearly to the top of the jar or vase because when you put the borax in it'll over flow! now gently pour the water in your jar/vase. then grab the borax, the name of the borax is, 20 mule team BORAX, so you pour two and a half cups of borax in the jar/vase (have an adult help you if needed.) and try not to inhale the borax because its not good for your health. mix for 1-2 minutes then you grab some string and a pencil and wrap the string around the pencil (make a double knot if you can.) and on your pipe cleaner, place it in carefully by the mouth of your jar/vase and make sure the pipe cleaner doesn't touch the sides of your jar/vase then 2-4 hours later you'll have a beautiful crystal!!!!
it's certainly not good to eat, but it's definitely good to play with.
place it in the freezer for a while then when you take it out try to chip it off. good luck!

no if u did that u would end up with watery glue. i think it can work but you need to know a good recipe
The best standard is borax from NIST- code 187e.
They are certainly not the same thing, but it depends on your purpose if you can substitute them or not! If you are cooking and the recipe calls for baking soda, borax can definitely notbe used! But if you are using baking soda for cleaning, borax is also a good cleaning agent.
Silly putty is trademarked by Crayola. Some say it was invented by Earl L. Warrick who worked for Dow Corning. Crayola says it was invented by James Wright, who was an engineer working for General Electric in 1943. Peter Hodgson took some of what James Wright made to the International Toy Fair in 1950. It became a very popular toy because it bounced.
