250 or so
I bought one for my son not to long ago. I paid $480 for the gun. It also came with a 3x9 scope that isn't to expensive. It is a great gun for a beginner.
It is my understanding that Herters only made rifles in the mid to late 60s and were sold mainly via mail order direct from them with a few stores selling as well. The Gun Control Act of 1968 pretty much marked the end of Herters rifles.
100-400 USD
About $450-$500, depending on condition, scope, etc.
B-Square made rings that clip to the scope rail.
Only if it is marked ".223 Remington" on the barrel.
$499
Mounting an airsoft scope on an actual rifle would actually quite ruin it. Don't do it, because an airsoft scope is notdesigned to take the shock that an actual gun would give it.
Them twist rate of a Winchester model 70 rifle in .223 Rem.is 1"in 9".
Possible, but, costly
You should be ok making that switch unless it was a low budget fixed power scope make specifically for low recoil firearms.
