This is the restoration drive and the computer manufacturer makes it hidden... it is actually a partition of your main c drive, so its called a virtual drive... all of the files, windows xp, and all of the installation programs, your motherboard and device drivers... that were original with your computer are stored on here so that you can restore your computer to factory condition.
It is hidden so that you do not accidentally delete that sector of the drive. If your computer becomes corrupt, there are programs that are installed on your drive that can restore it to original factory condition, or you can make a set of windows installation discs from this sector.
It is your main hard disk drive. It stores OS data, as well as programs and regular files..
