For an air/piston powered .177 BB gun - anything less than 200 feet per second (fps) For a CO2 powered BB gun - anything less than 300 fps. For an "AIR SOFT" gun - anything less than 150 fps.
FPS stands for "Feet Per Second." BB guns range from 200 FPS to around 500 FPS. Pellet guns and rifles can attain over 1100 FPS depending on the model.
All BB guns are alot less in (Strong) than Pellet guns. BB guns are luckey if they can attain 600 FPS (feet Per Second) Pellet guns & rifles can attain 1450 FPS. The fastest and most powerful BB gun I know of is the IZH Baikal Drozd that fires at 541 FPS. The Evanix AR6 Pellet rifles fires at 1450 FPS.
Yes it is passable, so don't ever aim a BB gun at a person. Buy the way, BB guns usually don't travel at 1200 FPS Pellet guns do.
FPS stands for Feet Per Second. This is how fast the manufacture rates to BB or pellet as it comes out of the barrel. A slow FPS is around 250 FPS a very fast FPS is around 1200 FPS a few rifles can attain over 1500 FPS. Airsoft guns rarely get above 500 FPS because the projectile is so large.
In most cases it will be a BB gun. But Pellet guns exceed both the BB and the airsoft guns. Pellet guns can attain speeds over 1200 FPS.
70 FPS is considered low for a bb gun, of course if you were shot with it it would still hurt.
If you are asking about Daisy BB guns not rifles or any other brand made by Daisy. then I would have to say the Daisy powerline models 5502 and 5503 are the fastest Daisy BB guns at 430 FPS. The Daisy 880 and several other models reach 750 FPS. But these are rifles not BB guns like you asked in this questiion.
they vary from 500 to 950 ---------------------------------- New Answer------------------ Don't confuse BB guns with Pellet guns. FPS stands for "Feet Per Second." The slowest BB gun I know of is the Marksman 1010 Classic it's rated at 200 FPS. Some of the fastest are made by IZH Drozd that are rated at 541 FPS. There are a few BB rifles that may exceed this FPS. Pellet rifles and gun can far exceed the 600 FPS barrier. A few are known to reach over 1,400 FPS. The most powerful air guns are in the PCP class( PreCharged Pneumatic) of air guns and rifles. These require a special hand pump or SCUBA tank to charge them to 3000 PSI and are capable of firing a 50 Caliber Ball.
There are BB guns and there are Pellet guns. BB guns are not as powerful as pellet guns. BB gun can only fire a .175 caliber BB at a maximum of around 500 FPS. Pellet guns can fire a .177 pellet over 1200 FPS. The most powerful class of Pellet guns and Rifles are PCP's (PreCharged Pneumatic) air guns. These require a special pump or Scuba tank to charge them to 3000 PSI and can fire up to a 50 Caliber slug. Capable of bringing down a full size deer. Pellet guns are much more accurate and powerful than BB guns. If you want a powerful BB gun then I suggest a multy pump BB rifle.
eBay
200 or so ------------------------------------------------- The slowest BB gun ( NOT Airsoft or Pellet gun) that I know of is the Marksman 1010, it is rated at 200 FPS. The fastest BB gun I could find is the Crosman 2100 that is rated at 755 FPS. This gives you an average of 477.5 FPS Pellet guns and rifles can attain much faster speeds.
Bolt action spring "sniper" guns are generally more powerfull (450+ fps) where cheap spring guns are very weak (~250 fps). Electric guns are somewhere in the middle.
