Don't be sorry, just about any farmer can tell you a manure lagoon is a way for us to store the manure from the barns in order to use it on the fields in the spring. Often found near the back of the livestock holding areas and the wintering barns it is easily accessible for the front end loader on the tractor and all the manure is scraped into it, drainage from the barn also often is directed toward this area so all the liquids from urine and hoses used to clean flow into this area. In the spring time when the contents are somewhat aged and liquefied it is pumped into spreaders and used for fertilizer on the fields.
