A mould (or mold in USA) is a means by which one duplicates the form of an object in order to recreate it in a different media.
Mold-making is a widely applied skill that is used much outside the filed of art in very similar ways, though it's application in sculpture has many techniques that are particular to the art, as well as the choices of media used to create the master and the subsequent duplicates.
