A PAD switch is a term from audio and microphones. Regarding microphones, this switch allows the user to lower the output of the microphone. Some microphones have a -20db PAD switch while others have a -10db PAD switch.
Many condenser microphones, for example, have internal pre-amplifiers that gain up the low amplitude of the microphone. Then the PAD switch can be used to lower the signal again so it does not distort at the input end of the console or damage the console or an outboard pre-amplifier.

The driver-side power window of my 03 pathfinder does not move. I suspact the switch is the cause because there was no any noise when I turned the switch on. To check the switch, I need to take the master windor switch pad out. First of all, I took the screw out from the arm rest and then tried to lift the master switch pad as instructed by the repair manual. But the pad was not moveable. Anything else I should do in order to take the switch pad out. Please help. Thank you. Victor

The brake light switch is behind the brake pedal.

It is above the brake pedal pad, attached to the lever the brake pedal pad is attached to.
