The shelter for rabbits is called a "Hutch" The place wild rabbits live is called a warren.
I would say no, but I don't know how you think. Are you keeping them for pets? Fur? Meat? If pets, don't. They are wild animals, and there are domesticated rabbits for your pet needs. If fur or meat, depending on the size of the pen. A regular pen for two pet rabbits are too small for breeding rabbits. If on a large large field, could work, but why? Is it even legal? The space they will need in time in an enclosure is difficult to fix. And it is certainly not profitable, or healthy for the rabbits.
A meat pen consists of three rabbits all the same age, breed and variety each weighing as close to 5# as possible. Each rabbit in the pen should be free from disqualifications and eliminations and as close in type as mandated by the Standard of Perfection as possible.
You can Go to your nearest hard wear store such as Menards, fleet farm, lowes or home inprovement and buy a fence and if you dont like the look of a fence in the middle of your yard you could go and buy some sheets of wood and you can make a larger sized Pen house or somthing for the rabbits make sure to put in windows and carpets if you think you have good enough roofing and make sure the rabbits get out of there plenty for food and water and for exersize if your dog and rabbits dont get along try to take the dog out side for some play time at a different time as you would with the rabbits heres an idea of what the rabbits pen may look like
Rabbits normally scratch to keep their claws short
Yes, coyotes will break into pens that hold rabbits. Even if they can't break in, coyotes will be attracted by the rabbits and they will pace around outside the pen -- this is terrifying to rabbits, and can lead to death by shock/heart attack. Predators like coyotes are one of many risks inherent in keeping rabbits outside. If you keep your rabbits outside, you must protect them from the risks. If you aren't able to adequately protect them, you must keep them inside or find someone who can keep them safe (re-home them). It isn't fair to keep pet rabbits where they can be terrified or killed by predators: pets have been domesticated, which means they've been taken out of their natural environment, bred so that they've lost many of their natural instincts, and then they are placed in a pen where they have no chance of natural defence (escape). Letting predators kill animals under these conditions is cruel: it's nothing like the natural predation of a wild animal. Think of it this way: in your own home, you may be able to protect yourself against an armed maniac; in a jail cell, you don't stand a chance.
To breed rabbits, put an unnuetered male and an unspayed female rabbit in a pen or some open area. Keep them together for a few hours until they mate. (Do this at dusk or dawn. That's when they are most active.)Wait 28-31 days until the rabbit gives birth.
Rabbits can live in barns. Some breeders keep their rabbits in barns, or they can also live in barns if a family member is allergic to rabbits. However, it is best to keep rabbits inside. Indoor rabbits tend to be healthier and live longer.
Usually it is just a home or a nesting spot for the bunnies to be born.
