"Piebald Dachshund" is not a dog breed, but "piebald" is a type of marking and "Dachshund" is a breed of dog.

Dachshunds are dwarf dogs that originated from Germany and were first used for flushing badgers. They come in two sizes: Standard and Miniature; and three coat types: Smooth, Longhaired and Wirehaired. Standards can weigh from 16 - 32 pounds and Miniatures can weigh 11 pounds or under, but despite their size, Dachshund have brave and confident personalities, reflecting their first use for attacking badgers.

Piebald is just one of the many markings of Dachshunds, and refers to a coat which is mainly white with colored splotches on it.

Piebald is not a breed or a type but a color pattern. This coloring is common among Paints and Pintos. The other pattern is what is called a Skewbald. It's the equivalent of Overo and Tobiano color patterns

Here's a list of some, if not all, the horse colours I know:

Bay - rich brown colour

White/grey - White/grey (White horse is called grey anyway)

Dun - off-white with black mane and tail

Palomino - gold with blonde mane and tale

Black - Black

Piebald - Irregular black and white patches

Chestnut - sort of orange, if you like

Strawberry roan - reddy-brown with white speckles

Skewbald - irregular brown and white and sometimes black patches.

Piebald is a color. Black and white pinto markings to be exact. The color of a horses coat does not affect the way it is worked or used. Horses no matter what color or markings can be used for ploughing, riding, harvesting, pulling logs or wagon and many other things that can be done on a farm.
