∙ 9y agoPlug and Play is anything(any device) that is either already having all the drivers inside the device or can run on the common driver that are already in the system.So that means that you can plugin your device and start using it without installing any software.
Bios are mostly plug and play or i would say that i have never used a bios that is not plug and play.The Bios are the software that configure the working of your motherboard. So Plug and Play Bios defines that you just need to connect your motherboard to use it.There are options to open bios on the starting page with shortcuts like F8,F11 or F10 so you can just start using the motherboard by just plugging it in if the mother board have plug and play bios.

BIOS has it's own set of basic I\O drivers, for example, for keyboard and monitor, sometimes the mouse as well depending on the BIOS. Once the OS is loaded, it loads it's own drivers for these devices.

No. Installing new components in a PC rarely, if ever, requires a BIOS update. RAM or memory especially is very much a "plug and play" component. Just turn off your computer, install the new memory, turn it back on and it will be automatically recognised.
