hypothisis
A mechanism is a process that drives or influences the outcome of an event.
The word 'experiment' is a noun, a singular, common, abstract noun; a word for a scientific procedure or a test designed to observe an outcome; an experiment is a thing.
Keeping temperature constant is important because many processes and reactions are temperature-dependent. Fluctuations in temperature can affect the outcome and efficiency of these processes. Additionally, temperature stability can also prevent damage or degradation of sensitive materials or substances.
Answering a question can be done by simply stating your opinion on an issue or by giving what you believe to be the proper answer. A science inquiry on the other hand requires you stick to established scientific methods of inquiry (read available scientific literature on the issue, find out what scientific consensus currently is, take into account credible alternative hypothesis, do scientific research, etc.) and the outcome of scientific inquiry does not necessarily have to coincide with what your opinion on the issue was before you started the inquiry.
Assuming there is a "secret" to find, the most consistent way of reaching for it is a highly iterative process - observe the universe around us, formulate hypotheses, make predictions of behaviors, experiment where possible, observe results of experiments, and finally compare the outcome of the experiment with the predictions. Every time an outcome of an experiment matches the prediction, we can be said to have taken one step closer to finding "the secret". The problem is that nobody knows how many steps it'll take to get there.
A scientific claim is, basically, a prediction of an experiment's outcome.
hypothesis :)
a prediction about outcome that is predited. Such as weather forecast
The prediction about the outcome of an experiment is a hypothesis. It is basically an educated guess, and you see if your guess comes true or not.
by prediction
That is a hypothesis.
Prognosis
According to the scientific method, after a scientist forms a hypothesis, he will make a prediction of the outcome of his experiment, based on his observations.
EmpiricalityThe assumption that I am still alive is not critical to scientific notation.
