When energy is added to an atom, some of the electrons will transit to a higher energy orbit. When they eventually decay from that orbit to their usual one, they will emit an electromagnetic wave, that we call light, that may be seen. This particular wavelength of light is quite particular to that element and to that transition.

So we may look at a distant star and see what elements it has!!

Where is the solar plexus?

The reason they use "solar" is because it refers to radiating, like the sun does. In the abdomen there is a group of radiating nerve fibers, or "plexus", that are situated behind the stomach and in front of the aorta. So they refer to the radiating quality of this group of nerves as solar plexus.

What is the difference between monopole antenna and dipole antenna?

Monopole is an antenna with just the radiating element where the ground of the transmitter is connected to an electrical ground which serves as an Image ground to the radiating element. Thus the name "mono" pole. Dipole is where the ground and the radiating elements are connected to two different elements where one is the radiating element and the other is the ground to the later. Thus the name "Di" Pole Cheers by zafran khan

How is SIM medium used to detect motility?

SIM agar may be used to detect motile organisms. Motility is recognized when culture growth (turbidity) of flagellated organisms is not restricted to the line of inoculation. Growth of non-motile organisms is confined to the line of inoculation.
