A Reflotron is an instrument use to analyze blood samples. Because of the simple measuring principal, it is easy to use and simple to maintain. It can analyze many different tests, because of the use of specific blood sample strips.

Some blood tests need centrifugation, some you use full blood.

When the blood is placed on the test strip it is put into the instrument.

The instrument uses an Ulbrichts ball. An Ulbrichts ball is a hollow ball that is white inside lightened with a LED lamp the has three wave lengths 567, 642 and 951. When the sample is inserted the Ulbrichts ball is pressed down on the sample strip. This presses the blood or serum into the layer that contains the chemical ingredients that react. The reaction results in a colouring. The light from inside the ball is reflected on the sample and back to a detector. The amount of light reflected is calculated into an appropriate number depending on the sample type.

So in principal any blood sample that can react to specific chemical substances and change colour in the wave lengths given can be analyzed.

The limitation is the availability of test strips
