A Semi Automatic Airsoft gun is usually a Gas or Electric powered gun that you cock once when first shooting; then each time you pull the trigger the gun shoots off 1 shot.
This is not the same thing as a Full Automatic Airsoft Gun, where you can hold down the trigger and the gun will shoot off multiple shots.
A semi-automatic airsoft pistol is a pistol which automatically re-chambers a bb, and can be fired again simply by pulling the trigger. They are usually in the form of electric pistols, (usually around 250 fps.) or Co2 and green gas pistols (Average around 350-450 fps.)
Semi auto means one shot per pull of the trigger.
No. it has to be cocked each time.
You need both.
Yes it is possible
Safety is the responsibility of the shooter, not, the weapon. Weapons are mechanical devices and can fail.
No, not if it's designed to do so.
The automatic/semi-automatic mechanisms work because as a round is fired, it uses the gas and recoil from the explosion to re-set the gun. Air soft pellets are just pieces of plastic, and do not have any propellant, so they need gas or batteries to cycle the gun.
You can buy one from Tokyo Marui. not very well known, nor is it preferred. But modding a springer into an electric gun defeats the point. The "Tokyo Marui Gindan Glock 26 (G26) Semi Auto Spring Airsoft Gun" Is one of these. See related links for more info.
It has to be electric (AEG).
To determine if a gun is in Semi auto, dry fire the gun a few times. If it is simply doing single shots then it is in Semi auto. If it is say doing a few single shots but then ramping, it maybe in PSP or NPPL mode.
