Remove the connector from the back of your marker light assembly. The lightbulb can be removed by pushing it in and turning at the same time. Reverse the process to install your new side marker lightbulb.
On my 2002 Nissan Xterra I had to remove 4 screws from the front bumper and wheel well and then I was able to get to the back side of the side marker light and remove the nut in order to get to the light bulb.
I took a few screws out of the front wheel well mud guard behind the marker light and reached in through there to remove and replace the side marker light.
There's a Phillips screw at the top of the marker light. You would need to unscrew that and then you will be able to remove the side marker light from your Toyota 4Runner. We have also included a link to a video in the related links section below.

The passenger side front marker light can be access from the back of the light. Take hold of the connector, push in and turn at the same time. The light will come out. Reverse the process to install the new light.
Do you mean the side marker light next to the headlight? Open the hood. On top of the headlight assembly, there's a screw with a Phillip-head pattern, next to the marker light. Remove the screw. Pull the marker light forward to remove it.
Those are called the "Side Marker Lights".
This is very easy to change, you don't need any mechanical experience. 1. You have to open up the access panel in the front wheelwell, turn the wheel all the way and unscrew the one screw holding it in. 2. Then use needlenose pliers to pinch the plastic clamps together holding the sidemarker in place, there is only one clamp holding each side marker. You can peek in from above with an open hood to grasp the clamps. 3. Pull the side marker out. 4. Twist the light and wiring out of the side marker. 5. Put the light in the new side marker, push the marker into position, close the access panel. Then do the other side.
