"The" simile? I'm not sure the term has been explained properly to you.

A simile is any comparison where you use the terms "like" or "as" - for example, "as cold as a witch's heart" or "like the middle of a February night." You can use any comparison you want to, so long as it makes sense ("as cold as a summer's day" would not make any sense, would it?).


Why don't you try making your own simile based on things you know are cold? Ice cream ... snow ... the winter wind ... your ex-wife ... you can pick just about anything you want to.
