A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth which causes us to see a dark shadow in front of the Sun. A lunar ecplise is when the Earth is between the Sun and the moon. The Earth's shadow causes the moon to look red because of the Sun's color. Keep in mind that you must never look at a solar eclipse directly! Only you can look at a lunar ecplise. Hope this helped!

A solar eclipse is where the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth. A lunar eclipse is where the Earth passes between the Moon and the Sun.

See links for more information
They are different because a Lunar eclipse is in the position of Sun Moon Earth. A Solar eclipse is in the position of Sun Earth Moon. That is the deference of A Lunar eclipse and a Solar eclipse.

There are equal numbers of lunar and solar eclipses.

However, you are FAR more likely to see a lunar eclipse, because half the world can see a lunar eclipse. Only the people who are in the narrow path of totality can see a solar eclipse.

A solar (sun) eclipse is when the moon comes between the sun and the earth, thus eclipsing it. A lunar (moon) eclipse is when the earth comes between the sun and the moon, and the moon is eclipsed because it is in earth's shadow.

They aren't; solar eclipses are slightly more common. The difference is that a solar eclipse happens when the shadow of the Moon hits the Earth, and only people within the very small "path of totality" really get to see the eclipse. A lunar eclipse happens ON THE MOON, and can be seen from the entire night side of the Earth.

You can check out the catalog of all eclipses between 2000 BCE to 3000 AD on the NASA Eclipse Web Page, at the link below.

A lunar eclipse happens when the Moon goes into the shadow of the Earth, and becomes dark.

A solar eclipse is when the Moon gets in between the Earth and the Sun, and the Moon's shadow hits the Earth.

Because the Moon is much smaller than the Earth, the Moon's shadow covers only a very small area on the Earth. But the Earth's shadow usually darkens the entire Moon.
