Best Answer

A subatomic particle is something smaller than an atom. These are further broken up into elementary and composite subatomic particles.

Electrons are elementary, whereas protons and neutrons are composite and can still be further broken down.

Subatomic particles are particles that are smaller than the atom. Protons, neutrons, and electrons are the three main subatomic particles found in an atom. Protons have a positive (+) charge. Neutrons have no electrical charge. Electrons have a negative (-) charge
