Enzymes and substrates will bind together to catalyse chemical reactions. The spot on the enzyme where the substrate will bind is called the active site of the enzyme. The enzyme and the substrate are usually a pretty close fit, hence the naming of the induced fit model.
The substrate is what will fit into an active site on a protein called an enzyme. It is often though of as a lock and key mechanism. The lock is the active site and the key is the substrate. Turning the key will open the lock or in the case of enzymes, cause a reaction.
The place where the enzyme binds to, forming the enzyme-substrate complex
It is where the substrates act to form amino acids, glucose etc. its also used as a surface for the substrates.
lock and keyy
Substates are fat
The substrate binds to the active site.
The substrate binds to the active site.
The active site.
A substrate molecule needs to interact with the enzyme's active center (known as "active site") for the enzyme mediated catalytic conversion of substrate into product. Some times, this could or may bind to a second site of an enzyme named, "allosteric site" that would not form the product.
The substrate fits inside the active site of the enzyme. when it fits perfectly its called " lock and key"
The substrate binds to the active site.
The substrate binds to the active site.
substrate goes in the active site. so if you have an ezyme, there would be a region where the substrate would fit into the active site.
The substrate binds to the active site.
The part of the enzyme where the substrate attaches itself to is known as the "active site". The active site of an enzyme is a part of the molecule that has just the right shape and functional groups to bind to one of the reacting molecules. The reacting molecule that binds to the enzyme is called the substrate.
The active site of an enzyme is the site where substrates undergo the reaction specfic to that enzyme.
The substrate binds to the active site.
That is the active site. Substrate binds to it
Substrate is the reactant in which an enzyme reacts out. While the active Site is a special region of the enzyme where the substrate binds forming a temporary enzyme-substrate complex.
The substrate binds to the active site.
An enzyme's active site will bind with only a specific substrate. Any other kind of substrate will be rejected by the active site.
active site has depression for substrate (to fit in ) is called active site.
