∙ 14y agoA Contract Bridge auction ends when three consecutive players pass. The partnership that has won the auction are referred to as declarer, and the opposing partnership are defenders.
Once the opening lead is made, the dummy hand of the declaring partnership is tabled face up, and both it and the remaining concealed hand are played by a single member of the declaring partnership. The term Declarer typically refers to the playing individual, not the dummy or the partnership.
