What is the theme of the twilight series?

Except backwards. The normal plain human girl falls for the perfect beautiful vampire.

I see it differently. Actually, I think of it more as that Bella sees it as Cinderella (Plain girl falls in love with "prince"(beautiful vampire)), and Edward sees it as Beauty and the Beast (Beast (Edward sees himself as a monster) falls in love with a beautiful girl (Bella).

I also see it differently. One of the themes is obsession. Pedophilia and child grooming is also adressed, as is abuse.

i too like your answers but if you look at the book i believe the theme of the book is forbiden love because it shows and apple and i think the apple represents how Adam and eve were forbiden to get the fruit from the tree and its similar because edward wasnt suppose to fal in love with a human and it was forbide for their kind to even come near a human.........

i agree with all those. I don't think Twilight has a central theme. The real point of the story was to entertain teenage girls who enjoy vampire romance novels.

New kid in town (Bella) falls in love with guy (Edward). he is a vampire and although they are quick to acknowledge their own feelings, they do not realise each others. very Buffy and Angel, but just as exciting and fresh
