WEP and WPA protect your information from unauthorized access when you are using your wireless connection. Longer key harder to crack.
WEP system is practically dead because of flaws in the encryption mechanism, and basically can be cracked within minutes.
WPA is a good choice especially with long keys. If you can, use WPA2-PSK AES. This one is almost impossible to crack.
WEP is an abbreviation for Wired Equivalent Privacy. But what exactly are WEP keys?
A WEP key is a security code used on some Wi-Fi networks. WEP keys allow a group of devices on a local network (such as a home network) to exchange encoded messages with each other, while hiding the contents of the messages from easy viewing by outsiders.
A WEP key is a sequence of hexadecimal digits. These digits include the numbers 0-9 and the letters A-F. Some examples of WEP keys are:
A WEP key is an authentication used on wireless networks
It's outdated type of encryption. Using modern tools it takes about 10 minutes to bypass it.
If you can, you should use at least WPA.
The WEP key is found on the router, not the DS unit or the WII. The WEP is different all routers.
if you mean for a wifi signal that's someone wifi and he doesn't one anyone to connect to it except for him, the only way you can get the wep key is to ask for the guy that own the wifi signal.
The internet password for your wifi
the WEP key is your wireless internet password. if you have a wifi internet receiver you should know the WEP code
Hi, WEP is wired equivalent privacy,is 10 bit long key for your wireless connection. exept for moman his has 9 ditigs
A WEP key has nothing to do with your DS system but the WEP key is the password that is needed for secured wireless modem networks when you're trying to set up the connection with other devices. Most default WEP keys can be on the router or the modem already but if the key isn't a default one then you'll have to ask whoever set up your modem or Router for the WEP key.
You just give the WEP/WPA key to whoever wants access.
you can use wifi if only your pda is equipped with wifi, and wireless router is connected to either DSL, or cable modem. in order to access the internet, you need to enter the wep key into your pda. wep key can be found back of the wireless router, if not, you have to assign a wep key from the computer which is connected to the wireless router.. asian623 If you have a wireless router and your PDA has WiFi capability then yes. But you have to have both wireless capabilities on both machines.
WEP key is not really much to do with animal crossing (unless i am mistaken), it is something to do with your ds wifi connection. If you have a bt homehub then look on the back of it and it will have 'WEP key:' and code of numbers and letters. type that in where it says WEP key on your ds and your ds will connect to the internet. If you don't have a homehub then im sorry i cant help you with my own knowledge. It might not work anyway if your wifi router's settings are not compatible with the ds. Hope this helped.
wep and wpa both are encryption standards to make a more secure wifi network, so your xbox needs to have the same wep/wpa code that your router is set to. if you have to choose between wep or wpa, choose wpa if possible because it is virtualy uncrackable and it will save your bacon
your wifi code
The WEP key is unique to the installation. There is no master key.
