What is a white lion?

All lions have tawny brown fur (apart from white lions) that has spots on when they are young. They have a lighter coloured tummy and muzzle. Lions have a brown tuft on the end of their tails. Male lions have a thick, downy mane that grows as they get older. A mane starts growing when a lion is an adolescent (teenager) and starts of the colour of the lions fur. A lion gets a type of under-arm hair which is part of their mane when they get older. A lions mane colour ranges from brown to black.

a white lion is simply what the name says a white lion, though can some times be a light tan or cream depending on genetics. they are NOT albinos. though the genes, like in albinos, gives them a lack of pigment. the eyes can be colored such as blue and brown. i have actually seen a pride of these amazing creatures for myself at the sigfried and roy zoo in Las Vegas, Nevada. there roar is amazing i thought there was an earth quake.ha ha. they are extinct in the wild but otherwise are exactly like any other lion

The white lion is occasionally found in South African reserves. It is a rare colour mutation of the Kruger subspecies of lion (Panthera Leo krugeri), perpetuated by selective breeding in zoos around the world. White lions are not a separate subspecies and they have never been common in the wild.
