There are several different schemes for intrustion detection, all based on some sort of user or machine authentication.

It is important for businesses to know who is accessing the information contained in its computers. Therefore it is vitally important that it has a network intrusion detection system installed.

∙ 9y agoAn Intrusion Detection System (IDS) alerts the authorized person(like a SysAdmin) about intrusion attempts into your network. This is basically a monitoring system and therefore you can't expect it to stop an intrusion but however there maybe some IDS which provide that feature.
IDS provides protections against Identity Theft, Information mining and Network hacking.
