I think that it's mucus. but if you have a lung disease it could be that.

Yes, Benjamin Burnley does have a lung infection.
It takes a long time for the lung tissue to heal after pneumonia. The white mucus is not a symptom of infection but rather the healing process. If the mucous changes to more yellow or green then you may want to consult your doctor.
Yes it can. Due to the pain of the 'cracked' (broken or contused) ribs, one tends to breath more shallowly and take less deep breaths. Normally deep breaths help to move the mucus that is formed in the airway up into the throat, where it is swallowed unnoticed. If the formed mucus is not cleared properly it will accumulate in the lungs (due to gravity mostly in the lower lobes). This mucus is ideal for bacteria to grow in (warm and humid) and this may lead to a pneumonia
transfusion related acute lung injury

You should take him/her to the Vet immediately. Potential issues could be a respiratory infection, like bronchitis and as severe as lung worm.
Do you mean lung ABCESS? If so, it is a localized infection (pocket) in the lung.
Pneumonia is one type of lung infection, but not all infections are pneumonia. It depends on which sort of bacteria are causing the infection and where in the lungs the infection is.
