An exponent means the base number x's itself the number of times tht is the exponent so if it was 3(base) to the second (exponent) it wuld b 3x3 so the answer wuld b 9! hope this helps!! its hard 2 put into words sry!....another example 4 to the third power 4x4x4 so tht wuld b 16x4 which is 64!!
