Examples of Food Chains

  • Zebras eat grass, and lions eat zebras.
  • Plankton are eaten by blue whales eaten by whales.
  • Grass is eaten by farm animals that we eat for obesity.

Basically, a food chain mainly consists of three organisms: the plant, the herbivore, and the carnivore. Sometimes a fourth organism, above the other three, is a more superior carnivore/omnivore that feeds on the lesser carnivore, herbivore, or plant.
