A selectively permeable cell membrane allows certain molecules or ions to pass through it by means of active or passive transport. The most common example is the phospholipid bilayer cell membrane that surrounds all of our body cells. The inner membranes of an egg are also selectively permeable membranes.

An example would be plasma membrane or the cell membrane. It allows some substances to pass in and out of the cell in a differential manner (selective manner). See endocytosis and exocytosis

A filter paper would also be used to simulate a selective permeability.

An example of a semi-permeable membrane is the lipid bilayer of cells. In the process of reverse osmosis, thin film composite membranes (TFC or TFM) are used.
These are semipermeable membranes manufactured principally for use in water purification or desalination systems.
They also have use in chemical applications such as batteries and fuel cells. Another example of a semipermeable membrane is dialysis tubing.

The cell membrane is the best example for a semi-permeable membrane. It lets in/out gases as well as it can keep out other substances.

Cells have selectively what?

Selectively permeable.

Cells have selectively what membranes?

Selectively permeable.

What is definition of selectively permeable?

The selectively permeable phospholipid bilayer (a.k.a plasma membrane) is 'selectively permeable' because it selects which molecules it allows to permeate (pass through).

What is the relationship between cell membrane and selectively permeable?

Cell membranes are indeed selectively permeable.

example of a common object that performs similarly to a selectively permeable membrane?

A paper filter

How is dialysis membrane selectively permeable?

a dialysis membrane is selectively permeable, it is used in experiments to simulate cellular membranes, and it is permeable to water but not to sucrose.

What is a selectively permeable memberane?

A selectively permeable membrane means that it lets some molecules through but others can't get in.

Does the membrane of a cell is selectively permeable?

no

Does selectively permeable and semi permeable mean the same thing?

nope

Is the cell membrane selectively permeable?

There are different types of plastics and most of them are nor permeable or selectively permeable .Cellophane is a specific plastic used in biological experiments as it is selectively permeable .

What is the basic strcture of a cell membrane?

Cell membrane is elastic and transparent. It can be impermeable, permeable, semi-permeable or selectively permeable. In humans the plasma membrane is selectively permeable that is it allows entry to certain substance.

Are cell walls and cell membranes selectively permeable?

Cell membranes are selectively permeable while cell walls are semi-selectively permeable. Keep in mind that only low level organisms, like plants, have cell walls.
