I'm teaching an English writing class in Korea and our class was wondering this. The problem is that Zoomorphism is the closest.
Personification and Anthropomorphism are technically the same, giving human qualities to an animal or thing. Personification is objects and Anthro is animals.
By this logic, zoomorphism would only be to people, but there is no equivalent to personification.
The greek meaning, though, of anthropomorphism is to change something from human to something else, so zoomorphism would technically work. Morph means change, anthro person, zoo animal.
My class is considering making up a new word, but so far Animalification is the best we have. :)
Anthropomorphism - attributing of human characteristics and purposes to inanimate objects, animals, plants, or other natural phenomena, or to God.
A horse halfway through a gate is like a centaur because both have a combination of human and animal characteristics. The horse and gate represent the animal and inanimate objects, while the gate and human represent the connection between two worlds.
When an animal object or force is given human personality traits it is known as anthropomorphism. Anthropomorphism is a rhetorical device used to bring life and personality to non-human subjects. It is often used in literature art and film to create a narrative and evoke emotion in the audience. It can be used to personify animals objects natural phenomena and even abstract concepts. For example in the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell the animals on the farm are given human attributes and personalities to represent different ideas and political beliefs.Anthropomorphism can be used in a variety of ways: Personifying animals to make them relatable to the audience Giving objects and inanimate objects human characteristics Attributing human emotions and behavior to natural phenomena Assigning human characteristics to abstract conceptsAnthropomorphism is a powerful tool for creating narratives and engaging the audience. It can be used to evoke emotion in the audience and to bring life to otherwise inanimate objects. By giving non-human subjects human personality traits an artist can create a narrative that resonates with their audience and allows them to connect with the subject matter in a unique and meaningful way.
The term for giving humans animal characteristics is "zoomorphism." This is a literary technique where animals are used to represent human traits or qualities.
The "Inanimate object (one that does not move [NOT HUMAN!])" "past tense verb that a human can do" Ex. The sun smiled down on me. The sun does not smile, therefore it is giving a non-human thing human characteristics. Good luck! :)

Animate objects are living organisms that can move, grow, and reproduce, such as animals and humans. Inanimate objects, on the other hand, are non-living things that do not possess life characteristics like movement, growth, or reproduction, such as rocks, chairs, and tables.
Zoomorphism; assigning animal characteristics to non-animal entities.
When an inanimate object is compared to an animal, it is called personification. When the object is given human characteristics specifically, it is called anthropomorphization.

sessile. This term is good for any animal that doesn't move: barnacles, sea-squirts, tube worms.

Behavioral characteristics are particular things on an animal example : claws on a crab , whiskers on a cat , claws on a bear
As a concept it refers to 'anthropomorphism', sometimes referred to as 'personfication'.It is generally used as a literary device, but also was a common theme in religion and mythology.

plants, fungi, bacteria, unicellular organisms
Yes, an animal is alive. It breathes; it reproduces; it consumes, digests and eliminates, and it grows. These are what living things do, that "inanimate" things cannot.
