when a patients blood pressure is taken a tourniquet is tied in order to exert force to a area above the ankle that is called hoemconcentration and is only take when a patient has blood pressure to be checked. Not true, Hemoconcentration is the rise in cellular and protein concentration in the blood due to loss of blood plasma. This can be effected by many things including exercise. The loss of plasma in exercise can be atrributed to two things: 1. Increased blood pressure causes an increase in hydrostatic pressure in the capillaries thus forcing plasma from vasculture to intestinal compartment. 2.As metabolic waste products rise in the active muscles, intramuscular osmotic pressure increases wich attracts fluid to te muscles.

Does dehydration cause hemoconcentration?

yes it causes dehydration

Is hematocrit ratio of plasma to formed elements?

hemoconcentration

What test would hemoconcentration affect?

Hemoconcentration typically affects blood tests that measure the concentration of various components in the blood, such as hemoglobin, hematocrit, and electrolytes. It may lead to falsely elevated results due to a decrease in the plasma volume, causing the concentration of these components to appear higher than they actually are.

What is hemocentration?

Hemoconcentration is blood that has little fluid in it, making the blood portion less viscous.

Why should a tourniquet be removed with in one to two minutes?

Because if its left longer, it can cause hemoconcentration

What is a cure for hemoconcentration in dogs?

Hemoconcentration is a common syndrome seen in dogs of all ages, breeds and genders. Aggressive IV fluid therapy is known to be a treatment for it. However; they may also benefit from synthetic or natural colloid (stored or fresh frozen plasma) therapy.

What causes hemo-concentration?

When a person loses blood plasma, a rise in cellular concentration as well as protein concentration occurs. This is hemoconcentration when this occurs.

What are examples of hemoconcentration?

Hemoconcentration can occur due to dehydration, which leads to a decrease in plasma volume and an increase in the concentration of red blood cells. It can also be seen in conditions such as burns, where fluid loss causes a relative increase in the concentration of blood components. Other examples include excessive sweating, diarrhea, and certain medical conditions like polycythemia vera.

What is hemo-concentration?

Hemoconcentration occurs when there is an increase in the concentration of blood cells as the result of the loss of plasma from the bloodstream. A decrease in volume of plasma and an increase in red blood circulating.

Does sexual activity increase white blood cell count?

at least in theory, vigorous sex will make you sweat, which might lead to hemoconcentration, and thus and increase in WBC per unit of fluids. In theory also, extrenous exercise might produce demargination of WBC from blood vessels with a net increase in WBC (similar to marathon runners leukocytosis)

What endocrine disorder in which patient is severely dehydrated low blood pressure and recent weight loss?

This sounds like it may be diabetes insipidus. This means that the pituitary gland is releasing too little ADH (antidiuretic hormone). This will cause the kidneys to filter out too much water from the blood, causing very dilute frequent urination, dehydration, hemoconcentration, electrolyte imbalances and possibly heart dysrhythmia.
