Good classroom control, a good personality, organsation (you dont want to lose everyone's papers), honesty, trust, value, care, and much much more What it takes to be a good teacher is not easy. Being a good teacher means you take responsibility over what your students learned by the end of the year. It means you have to be patient and be calm when you get frustrated. It means you have a friendly connection with your students and have a fun way to teach and help students understand a lesson. Make students want to learn. This is what Children want from a teacher.

A good teacher has the following qualities: * Patience: Children will make mistakes, and they will upset your plans. A good teacher is patient and understanding in such matters. * Willingness to relinquish control: we can try to "make" children do certain things, we need to accept that they are individuals with individual personalities and motives * The ability to express an instruction or question in different ways: some children need to hear instructions presented differently, until they understand what you mean * Organisation and the ability to prioritise: time will be spent marking papers and other assessment, reports, on administration issues, meetings and more. Ultimately, the only thing that's important is the welfare and education of the students. * A sense of humour: children have amazing creativity and the most marvellous sense of humour. * Willingness to be under scrutiny: every action you make, every word you say is scrutinised somewhere, by someone, and remembered long after the event. A teacher is someone who teaches knowledge and life skills 1-12th grade. Within classrooms in the public school setting, one of the most important aspects for becoming a good teacher is classroom management. Without effective class management, (both rules and procedure) even the most talented, highly-trained teacher will fail. One of the keys to successful classroom management is creating engaging lessons using a variety of instructional strategies but there must be a foundation of expected behaviors and clearly stated consequences established before any of that can work. A master teacher will discuss these expectations early and often. Posting and signing a social contract is an excellent reminder for some students, but to attempt to establish this with all students can be counter-productive and lose its effectiveness with the children for whom it really matters. One area new teachers often overlook is classroom arrangement. Environment matters and will negatively or positively impact the learners in your room. Grouping, quiet areas, work tables, placement of supplies, visual stimulation and reading materials will all affect student behavior. Too often teachers opt for seating kids in rows: this has its place at times, as does grouping around tables. Check the work of Eric Jensen and Robert Marzano for the latest brain-based research and most effective instructional teaching modalities.

A good teacher is one who acts as a facilitator of knowledge and promotes good critical thinking skills, and presents information in such a way that makes is easier for students to assimilate and use in real life. He/she is an encourager, nurture, one who builds up and never tears down. Often, a good teacher does not tell students what to think, but facilitates their thinking process so they can make better informed decisions for themselves, based on education, research, and critical thinking methodology.

A teacher would be able to develop the qualities to become an ideal one by trying to observe other teachers. By this, a teacher would be able to acquire good qualities that a good teacher should really owned. Trying to observe also the students will help the teacher know what should be more improved for the students to meet the improvement in the development of their knowledge.
