Heartworms are potentially lethal to canines if not treated immediately. They become adults and burrow into the heart of the animal, causing one side of the heart to swell and grow extra tissue. This puts lots of extra strain on the body and if the dog has a heavy infestation it can die.
Humans, for one.
Nearly all fishes and birds can be harmed by parasites.
A Host
I believe it is the Host
The host.
Fish can get parasites that harm them. Dogs can also get harmed by heartworms those are parasites. Humans can also be harmed by parasites. there are many parasites that can affect people.
Parasitism is what happens when one organism benefits and the other is harmed. For example, think of fleas on a dog. The fleas are parasites because they are benefiting from living on the dog, but the dog is being harmed by the fleas.

A parasitic organism (or animal) is one that lives in, with, or on another organism. The parasite is benefited through this relationship while the organism it is attached to is usually harmed. Hookworms and female mosquitoes are examples of parasites.
Parasites get benefit but host is harmed .Parasites are highly modified .
no organism is harmed.
no they will be no harmed
A relationship in which one kind of organism lives on or in another organism an may harm the organism is called parasitism. The organisms that live on or in other organisms are parasites. The organisms they feed on are called hosts. The parasites benefit from the relationship. The hosts are harmed by it. JUST TO LET YOU KNOW I GOT ALL THIS INFORMATION FROM AN AUDUBON TRADITIONAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!
there is no type of parasitism that doesnt harm the host. parasitism by definition means: an organism living within another larger organism where the parasite benefits from the host and the host is harmed (diseases).when the parasite is benificial to the host (in case of tryconymphs in coacroaches that helps them to digest cellulose) the relation is called symbiotic relation and not parasitism
when a organism is helped or harmed you call it a parasite
it is called parasite
host
