What are some possible solutions to help save the cougar?

Cougars (Puma Concolor) are well known to be at risk. Most people do not know the reason behind this, but it is actually the human race who are diminishing the life of this fascinating creature. Many things have been debated on how best to save the cougar, but after establishing the mainreasons the cougar are becoming endangered, they have decided to attack at this certain part. By the end of the 20th century Cougars had been driven to near extinction in some parts of the USA and other parts of central, north and east America. Florida panthers (Puma Concolor Coryi) have a population of a mere 100 individuals, whereas in western americ there are around about 30,000 individuals. We as a race have been asked to slow our progress among habitated areas of America and to put a stop to hunting cougars and slow down the hunting of white-tailed deers in cougar territory. We have also been told that although we have a natural instinct to fear arge cats, we must manage to hold our ground against an attack and to not harm the cougar as this will only frustrate it and make it more volatile. We need not fear cougars because they are the most unlikely big cat to attack unless threatened or disturbed when with prey. Also be careful of cougar cubs because mother cougars are very likely to attack if you approach their young.

Then they can only hunt at certain times and places and use certain guidelines to hunt them. This gives the cougar the advantage. The cougar is a very adaptable cat, and can live in a variety of habitats. One measure taken to help the Florida race was to bring in eight female cougars from Texas, a closely related race. This was done to prevent inbreeding, and has met with some success.

we, people are mostly the reason why the Mountain lion(/Puma/Cougar/Felis councolour) is dying out. farmers are "protecting" their livestock, and killing them. and we use their fur for clothing and other items. What we don't know is that the mountain lion is actually balancing the number of deers, goats and sheep out. if the lion didn't eat them, their would be too many of that species.

As a species, the puma is not endangered, but the Florida subspecies is (Florida panther). The population of this puma dropped into the 20's, and genetic flaws were being noticed due to inbreeding. Biologists introduced eight female Texas cougars, which are very close genetically to the Florida race, and since then, many healthy litters have been reported, and the puma has recovered somewhat to a population of 80 in the Florida region.
