1 gram of any sample contains 1 mole of molecules. No it is NOT , it's only true for protons!

Two or more atoms of same kind come together to form a molecule.

Mole is a unit that is used repeatedly in introductory chemistry classes.

Added:

  1. a molecule is a group of chemically bonded atoms.
  2. a mole is a number, like a dozen is 12, a mole is 6.022 x 10^23 , (6.022 x 1023).

    Eg. 1.0 grams of H2 is equal to 0.5 mole H2 and it contains 3.011 x 1023 H2 molecules

    and 1.0 grams of O2 is equal to 0.03125 mole O2, it contains 1.882 x 1022 O2 molecules

A mole is usually bigger than the molecule. In one mole there are will be 6.02x10^23 molecules which makes the mole bigger between the two.

What is the difference between a molecule and a mole of carbon dioxide?

A molecule is the fundamental unit of a compound. Therefore, a molecule of carbon dioxide is one C and two O atoms bonded together. A molecule is a single unit whereas a mole is a group of molecules and represents a fixed no. of any substance. Therefore, one mole of Carbon Dioxide consists of a 6.022 x 1023 molecules
