If something is biodegradable, that means that it will break down and rot away. Virtually any kind of food is biodegradable, whereas plastic containers or bags are non-biodegradable. That is, they don't rot. They just sit around causing problems for animals and the environment.

to be very simple Bio-degradable waste are the by products which consists of natural stuff ,such that when you throw it out side nature (Small tiny atomic creatures) will degrade it and release the natural products back to atmosphere. Take an example of your Garden's waste. you throw it out side and one day it will turn into Compost;a very good fertilizer. On the other hand Non-Biodegradable stuff can not be decomposed like glass, steel etc. They wont be melting in Nature no matter how strong are the organisms are. So it is advised that these product should be recycled so that they can be of use again
