A squirrels nest is usually made from small sticks, and leaf material and is called a drey.
Squirrels nests are called "dreys". They nest in either at the top of tall trees, in a hollow tree or take over a rook's nest. Dreys are usually the size of a football and are made from sticks, twigs, leaves, bark, moss and feathers covered with dry grass. One squirrel may have more than one drey.

Squirrels nest in a drey in the upper part of trees. Drey's are rather sloppy looking nests of twigs lined with down, moss, feathers and other such insulating material. Squirrels will sometimes nest in a hole in a tree and sometimes they will take over an abandoned bird's nest.
