There are 2 part to an image you see on screen. The forground picture and the CANVAS that it sits on similar to that an artist uses. You can keep a image one size and make the canvas bigger (or smaller) if adding in other graphics
If you move it outside of the canvas, it dissapears.
File > New and for Contents choose White
A tool that lets you move your image or selected parts of it around on your canvas.
That can be compared with action in Photoshop. In new CS6 version Photoshop can also record brush strokes. See related links for more details.
Adobe Photoshop is a graphic software that was developed by Adobe Systems. The 8 parts of the windows in Adobe Photoshop include the title bar, the menu bar, the options bar, the toolbox, the status bar, the canvas or work area, collapse to icon button and palettes.
If photoshop is not working, there is not trick to get around it, and there is no one who will be able to help you without knowing more details to figure out what might be causing it. You need to contact Adobe for further assistance.

Drawing canvas in Photoshop is frame in which you can draw, compare it with piece of paper in real environment. To resize shapes use Edit > Transform, to arrange shapes you can use options from options bar when Move tool is selected or go to Layer > Arrange, Align, Distribute.

You can change the view. Go to View>Screen Mode>Full Screen Mode and it will make the picture as big as your screen, but you can always use the other tools if you remember their shortcuts, or mouse over the sides of the canvas to reveal drop down menus.
If you are using canvas board, you cannot transfer the canvas to stretcher bars. The canvas has been glued to the board.
Photoshop Elements is Photoshop but with less features, so Photoshop is better but it is professional level software. For home use or to get started Photoshop Elements is OK.
