What is cause of error code P0400 on a 1997 Geo Tracker?
well on my 2000 Chevy tracker it is an egr flow malfunction. Girl at autozone said it could be a egr blockage....
Why would the top ball joints on a 1997 Tracker 4WD automatic cause it not to be able to be aligned?
P0400 EGR FLOW MALFUNCTION is a blockage code, not a compenent failure. What the computer is letting you know is that something is preventing the EGR valve from opening and closing. A sensor mounted just above or near the EGR valve checks pressure to veryify that the EGR valve is indeed doing it's job. When the EGR failes to do it's job, that's when P0400 code surfaces. The typical cause of this code is cracked…
I recently swap 1996 geo/Chevy tracker engine with a 1996 suzuki engine and it worked. you have to make sure they both have G16A stamped on both engines. you MAY have to swap intake and exhaust manifold, flywheel, alternator bracket, and a few other things. just make sure they are the same engine (G16A)
Does anyone know where to get a rebuilt computer or someplace where they rebuild the computers for the 1997 Geo Tracker?
I had to get my computer replaced on my '97 tracker and it unfortunately still didn't solve my problem. But I found mine on Ebay motors for cheap. They still may have one in there. If my memory is correct, in the search portion punch in this part number: 33920-71E11. This is the part number to that ecu. Again, hope it helps and all the best of luck on your tracker.
