Cellular radiation protection is to stop you from being affected by radiation and harmful electromagnetic fields (EMF) that come off your iPhone, Cell Phone, Mobile Phone, Cordless Phone or Portable phone.
Protection from these Emfs is more important now than ever with 5G coming out. There are a few companies that make special materials that can block emfs. The 2nd link in my bio is a video on the topic.
Radiation, which comes in a couple of harmful forms, can be either electromagnetic or particulate. The dangerous electromagnetic radiation includes X-rays and the more potent gamma rays. Particulate radiation takes a number of forms which include alpha, beta, proton and neutron radiation. All these forms of radiation are what are called ionizing radiation. The ability of this radiation to penetrate varies, but the energies carried by ionizing radiation can damage genetic material within cells. This can result in cellular damage, mutation or even the death of the cell. Biologic material is seriously threatened by these types of radiation, and exposure should be minimized if not completely eliminated.
Lead being a heavy element is a good absorber of radiation, so provides protection to vital organs of the body
Simply put, radiation breaks chemical bonds, and this results in tissue damage. Broken bonds in the biochemical structures of cells can be repaired if they are not severe, but if chromosomes are damaged by the dissociation of the chemical bonds that hold them together, the cell can die. Radiation can also cause mutation. Lots of radiation can do lots of cellular damage, and can kill lots of cells, as you could have guessed. Additionally, the "messing up" of the DNA of a cell can trigger carcinoma, and cancer as a result of radiation exposure is entirely possible.
It destroys everything in its vicinity on a cellular level, and anyone or anything that hasn't been evaporated is exposed to extreme radiation, which can lead to mutation, birth defects, or even cause serious illnesses such as cancer.
Neutron radiation is as dangerous as any other ionizing radiation, if not more dangerous,as by some sources, it can be as many as ten times more dangerous as other ionizing radiation. It is not directly ionizing radiation, since neutrons do not hold electric charge, but they interact (collide) with nuclei in it's path, creating isotopes, most of the time non-sable, radioactive isotopes. That is why neutron radiation induces a secondary radiation in the material it passes through. The penetration of neutron flux is rather strong, and is not affected by the shield density, as is the case with gamma radiation, but rather by a material rich with Hydrogen (deuterium) atoms, since H atoms contain one single proton/neutron, and the collision physics slow down the neutrons in this matter most efficiently. Therefore, heavy water, plexiglass, plastics and similar materials are used as an effective shield in neutron radiation protection.
what are the effects of ionizing radiation on cellular constituents
what is the essential concept of underlying radiation protection
Ionizing radiation can disrupt biological processes within cells. It can cause cellular mutation or cellular damage, and can even kill a cell. This potential requires we consider shielding personnel from the radiation. As to a patient, that individual is being exposed to the radiation as part of an imaging or treatment plan, and a specialist will be on hand to insure that only the required or prescribed exposure is administered, and radiation protection, perhaps in the form of shielding blankets, is placed if needed over areas adjacent to the site the radiation is to be directed.
