76

Edit to the community's answer: 76% is a lie. Mine was 76% yesterday (June 19, 2015). And I didn't fall unconscious. It is dependent upon the length of time in which you are at that saturation. If you continue to be at 76% for too long you will eventually lose consciousness. But if you are only at 76% for a minute or so you will probably be fine. Put on some oxygen and do some breathing exercises to bring your oxygen saturations up. From what I have been able to find it seems that if your oxygen saturation hits 50% you are immediately unconscious. But more likely it is dependent upon different factors and certain people might be unconscious sooner. However everyone would be unconscious at 50%

If you don't have oxygen call for emergency services and do some structured breathing exercises. I have found that the best exercise to bring my oxygen saturation up quickly is to control my exhaling but to let my body inhale at the rate it wants. That is I slowly control my exhaling and but then exert no control on my inhaling. The only problem is the oxygen saturation only stays so high for a short period of time which is why you should call for emergency services if your oxygen saturation is that low. In fact anything below about 90% should probably be called in as difficulty breathing, especially if you have any symptoms of hypoxia, such as, increased rate of breathing, visual problems, trouble concentrating, fatigue, changes in mood, shortness of breath, blue lips, blue fingers tips, blue ears, et cetera.

What does it mean to lose consciousness?

Losing consciousness means temporarily losing awareness of your surroundings and being unable to respond to stimuli. It can happen due to various reasons such as injury, illness, or lack of oxygen to the brain.

What is preductal saturation monitoring?

Preductal saturation monitoring is a method used to measure the oxygen saturation levels in a baby's blood before it reaches the lungs. It helps assess how well oxygen is being delivered to the body, especially in newborns with heart or lung conditions. Monitoring preductal saturation is important for ensuring adequate oxygen levels and guiding treatment decisions.

What is include in vital signs?

The vital signs are: * Skin colour. * Skin temperature. * Pulse rate. * Breathing rate. * Level of consciousness (stable, unstable, potentially unstable or unconscious). * Oxygen saturation (the level of oxygen in the blood).

What is the pao2 when the Oxygen Saturation 90 percent?

The partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) when oxygen saturation is at 90% is approximately 60 mmHg.

What are oximeters?

It is a device for measuring the oxygen saturation of arterial blood.

Oxygen Saturation results mean?

Oxygen saturation is the extent to which the blood is carrying as much oxygen as it is capable of doing. It is measured as a percentage. Oxygen saturation is the percentage of oxygen in the blood stream. Doctors become concerned when that percentage drops below 90%. It simple terms, at 82%, your brain other other organs are not receving enough oxygen to properly function. Anyone's oxygen saturation level varies from one moment in time to another. If you had a full copy of your sleep study report you might see reference to peak saturation (the highest saturation seen during the study), average saturation, saturation nadir (the lowest saturation recorded during the study), among other terms.

What would happen to the saturation in oxygen when its hot?

I'm assuming you're referring to saturation of oxygen in the blood. If the temperature is increased, oxyhemoglobin curve is shifted to the right, meaning hemoglobin realeses oxygen more readily, thus increasing blood oxygen saturation.

What instrument measures the body's oxygen saturation with a small clip?

A pulse oximeter measures the body's oxygen saturation with a small clip.

What happens if oxygen saturation is 50 percent?

if the oxygen saturation is 50% it means the total hemoglobin content of blood is half saturated with oxygen. in this condition the oxygen delivery to the tissues is the maximum.

What is unsafe oxygen?

Unsafe oxygen level is below 90% oxygen saturation.

When is an increase to oxygen saturation in tissues recommended?

An increase in oxygen saturation in tissues is recommended in situations where there is decreased perfusion or inadequate oxygen delivery, such as during hypoxia, shock, or severe infections. This can help improve tissue oxygenation and prevent damage to organs due to oxygen deprivation.

What is difference of oxygen saturation of hemoglobin in lungs verses exercising tissue?

In the lungs, oxygen saturation of hemoglobin is close to 100% due to high oxygen levels in alveoli. In exercising tissue, oxygen saturation can drop to around 70-75% as oxygen is released to supply energy for muscle contraction.
