How do you correct convergence problems on a JVC av48wp30?

I'm in the process of repairing my red convergence failure on my JVC AV48WP30. The red convergence failure shows as a red "sag" or bow in the upper left corner of my screen, but could be blue or green in other parts of your screen depending on which convergence IC malfunctioned. I'm not an expert, but from what I can tell if you have the sag of any color, one of two convergence IC's failed on the convergence board located in the front right cabinet portion of your TV (don't open the back of the TV). The failure could have been caused by a faulty resister nearby. Look for smoked or burnt resisters near the 804 or 805 convergence IC's. The IC's themselves might be clearly labeled STK392-110, but you could upgrade to 150's or 180's for better heat tolerance. You may have to replace one or more resistors as well. Unplug the TV, open the front cabinet, desolder the existing IC's and replace. You could just swap IC's, resolder and power the TV on. If you notice a sag of a different color, now you've determined it was definitely a convergence IC failure. The IC's themselves ran me about $15 each from a TV repair shop. Call first to make sure they have them in stock.

How do you relate broad band and convergence?

Convergence is where traditional forms of media have become intertwined--for example, go to a website for a newspaper and you will most likely find audio reports on some stories as well as video reports on some stories. You now have print journalism and broadcast (radio and tv) journalism on the same media outlet. And if you go to a television or radio station's website, you will find print versions of their news stories. Convergence would not be possible without broadband, which allows for the flow of information to your home or work computer. If broadband were not in existence, you could not get all three forms of media on one platform. So basically, broadband makes convergence possible. And Convergence make broadband necessary.

Why does your TV look like a 3d TV with out the glasses?

It is out of convergence. The yoke, knobs and magnets control where the three color beams land on the front of the picture tube. When they are out of alignment the results look similar to the 3D movie effect.

What is a example of convergence?

What does convergence journalism mean?

Basically put, convergence journalism is using one source (say a news story produced by a media company) across many different mediums (television, radio, print, and internet). This can be seen in every corner of the media industry and is a product of the mass concentration of ownership in the media. Because of this recycling of materials, staff members at each of these outlets has been cut down. A trend now is for companies to put on board convergence specialist who are experts at using one story and applying it to many different mediums.
