Oceanic.

What plates are involved in a subduction plate?

Convergence between oceanic plate and one continental plate. Convergence between two oceanic plates.

What happens at a convergent plate boundary between an oceanic and continental plate?

The oceanic plate usually subsides after colliding with a continental plate.

What would happen when two plates meets?

When two plates meet each other thats called a Convergent boundary. They include areas where an oceanic plate slides below a continential plate.

Explain plate tections and the continential drift?

Continential drift is a large landform of our continents.

Is the Pacific plate and oceanic plate or continental plate?

It is oceanic

What is the difference between a mid oceanic ridge and a subduction zone?

A subduction zone occurs at convergent plate margins where an oceanic plate is going underneath a continental plate or a less dense oceanic plate. A mid-ocean ridge is a divergent plate boundary on the ocean floor with a mountain range and a rift running through the center of it. Sea floor spreading also occurs at mid ocean ridges.

What is the difference between a convergent boundary between an oceanic plate and a continental plate and a convergent boundary between two continental plates?

A convergent boundary between two continental plates causes both plates to crumple to form fold mountains e.g. the HimalayasA convergent boundary between a continental and an oceanic causes one to rise above the other. Granite is less dense than basalt, so the continental plate rises above the oceanic plate. This also forms mountains, like the Andes.

What are two differences between the oceanic crust and the continental crust?

The oceanic crust consists of heavier rock, mostly Basalt, so that if a oceanic plate collides with a continental plate the oceanic plate will be forced down below the continental plate, forming island arcs.continental plates are thicker than oceanic plates.

Convergent boundaries can form between two oceanic plates, between one oceanic plate and one continental plate, or between two continental plates.
