Fibromyalgia is more of a syndrome than a disease, due to it being a "group of problems". It is a chronic pain in the muscles and tissues surrounding joints. It is linked to fatigue, sleep problems, headaches, and many other issues.
Fibromyalagia is a condition where a person experiences chronic pain throughout the body. Other symptoms include fatigue, trouble sleeping, and joint stiffness. Diagnosis for fibromyalgia is difficult because often laboratory tests appear normal but the patient experiences symptoms similar to other rheumatic conditions like Arthritis or osteoporosis.
The word comes from both ancient Latin and Greek, combining the Latin word for fibrous tissue (fibro) with the Greek words for muscle (myo) and pain (algia).
chronic widespread pain, aching, and fatigue.
Fibromyalgia is a syndrome that is well known. This is a person that has many pains throughout the body.
joint pain
Fibromyalgia can cause pain and tire someone out mentally. Arthritis only causes pain due to inflammation. The problem is physicians don't really know what causes fibromyalgia, unlike arthiritis which is famously known. Fibromyalagia is harder to bear, so I think fibromyalgia is worse than arthiritis.
