Fog intensity is how dense fog is. The lower the visibility, the more intense and dense the fog is.
Steam fog and frontal fog
"Fog-laden" means covered in fog. From a mountaintop you'd be unable to see a river in a fog-laden valley, for example.
The type of fog that forms in valleys at night is Radiation Fog. It usually does not last long after sunrise.
It comes from Tule grass or reeds that grow in wetlands of California. Low fog comes from these wetlands and it is called a tule fog. Any low fog in California is referred to as tule fog since it resembles the fog in the wetlands.
A Freezing Fog Advisory will be issued when fog is present with temperatures below freezing, and the fog is expected to cause a thin layer of ice
In fog you should use dipped headlights or front fog lights. Also you should use high intensity rear ( fog) lights.
It's an inverse-square law - for instance, double the distance, and the intensity will be reduced by a factor 1/4.This assumes that there is nothing absorbing the light (for instance, fog); if there is, the intensity in the above example will of course be even less than 1/4 the original intensity.
Fog lights burn out pretty fast, especially those high intensity ones. (A few months)-I own a '97 trans am as well.
All UK sharans will have at least 1 rear facing high intensity light (rear fog light). The front high intesity lights would depend on the individual vehicle specifications, if the model had them fitted as standard or if they were an optional extra.
