The Halo 3 content is rated by the ESRB as M for Blood and gore, violence, language and partial nudity.

Techinicaly its like 17, but the game itself is completely fine for twelve and up and many people believe halo should be rated T as do I.

Not really gore-ish, just bloody. There was one cutscene that wasn't really graphic about the flood, but no hesitation on showing how they do what they do.
