General answer: "haram" means that something is forbidden by Islamic religious law.
I'd JUST like to say that I am only 14, I'm not a perfect muslim and I'm not good at typing english so I'll try my best to tell you. Muslims are not allowed to do certain things for very good reasons. Listening to music, dancing and something along those lines is haraam. Muslims are allowed to listen to certain music but there are just a few that we should not be listening to. Eating pork or other certain foods is haraam, searching haraam foods can tell you what you shouldn't be eating or ever eat. I mentioned 'dancing' but there is a certain dance move or move in general that seems to be very popular now-a-days, 'Twerking'. It is haraam, if you're a muslim woman who twerks then you should stop, there are OBVIOUS reasons why you shouldn't be twerking but hey, that's going to be another question answered. Celebrating holidays. Holidays like Christmas is haraam because it's celebrating the birthday of the Christian God.
