The Saint Joan"s international alliance is an unusual, but good example. It is an international organization. Named after St. Joan of Arc, it is involved with women's rights and issues and is primarily Roman Catholic. It should not be confused with a religious order, which it is not. The SJIA was founded around l920, as Joan was canonized that year. From l909-l920 she was classed as Beatified. Blessed, but not strictly speaking a Saint.
