are you talking about Masons like at the Masonic temple Masons?

I was in a Masonic youth organization, I had male family members who were Masons and female family members who were members of the women's auxiliary organization. The meetings are Christian-centric and all members believe in The Bible and Jesus. The members were of all different religious backgrounds, our meetings were in no way a replacement for Church but the group did promote fellowship and philanthropy, even as young teens we raised thousands of dollars for charities in our one little chapter and learned much about parliamentary procedure and public speaking. I kind of always assumed it was like the Elks or any other private clubs...

if you're talking about brick laying and stone cutting... I would assume its as much of a "religion" as any very skilled trade...

Why did the Roman Catholic Church ban Masonic participation?

It's a complex question, and you should check the online Catholic Encyclopedia. Originally one of the reasons the Catholic Church was anti-Masonic was that Masons are democratic. A current objection is that Masonry is a religion, and does not support the trinity. Masonry of course is not a religion, so the question of promoting one kind of religion is moot. Masonry is not anti-Catholic any more than the Lions or Rotary are, and many of its members are Roman Catholics.

What religion worships in a jahbulon?

No one. Some individuals falsely claim that Freemasons do; however, there are zero references to this fictional character in Craft Masonry. There were some references in the apendage body ot the Royal Arch Masons; however, this has nothing to do with masonry and most of these referencese have been removed in Royal Arch Masonry to clear any confusion on the topic. Masonry has and will always reference God as the Supreme Architect of the Universe and the God who gave man the Holy Bible. It is also important to note that Freemasonry is not a religion. It is a fraternity which requires a belief in a deity for general membership.
