A Bachelors of Arts is the title and degree awarded to people who have completed an undergraduate course in the liberal arts, as opposed to an undergraduate course in the sciences.
I must say, I am not aware of any nursing degree that is a bachelors of arts. Typically, it is a bachelors of science in nursing (BSN). However, below I have indicated the difference between a Bachelors of arts (BA), and a bachelors of science (BS). The BA has a broader scope, with a strong emphasis on the humanities, theoretical and general knowledge in a recognized discipline, interdisciplinary field, or of a professional study. The BS is more of a focused approach with a science base to include a balance of liberal arts, technological knowledge, math and computer oriented skills, and practical skills needed for a particular discipline within the field.
History is a major in a bachelor of arts degree. You would need to fulfill these requirements plus a minor and all the necessary courses.
"There is no such thing as a BA in chemistry. All bachelors chemistry degrees should be BSc."
A BA degree is just a Bachelors of Art, and a BFA degree is a Bachelors of Fine Arts. Usually Fine Arts degrees have a more rigorous fine art curriculum and require a portfolio for acceptance into the institution. So it really depends on what you want to do with your degree. If you just want a basic degree in photography, a BA (or even a BS) would do you just fine. However, if you want to go into the area of Fine Art photography, then I would recommend a BFA.
A bachelors degree can take between 120 and 128 credits to complete depending on the college or university, and the specific program of study. Thus, when transferring to a four year institution, you would have to complete an additional 60 to 64 credits. This is provided that the school you transfer to accepts your associates degree, full faith in credit. Some institutions can be very strict on what they accept. However, the associates in arts degree is typically a transfer program, so you should be fine.
